Meet Brandon: Husband, yogi, dreamer
I am originally from the Philippines but after I graduated University with a BSc in Nursing, I wanted to experience other things so I decided to throw myself in the deep end by moving to the UK. It was here that I got a foundation degree in Social sciences at the University of Warwick and a BA in Language and Culture at UCL. I have a lot of experience in retail from jobs I did whilst at uni but, after graduating, I wanted to work towards gaining more office-based experience. That’s where Tempo came in.
I actually met the Tempo team at the careers fair as part of the UCL Global Citizenship Employability Programme 2018. After hearing about it, I thought it sounded perfect for what I was looking for, so I signed up to the platform.
Pretty soon after, I found myself the perfect job. After completing my profile, I got shortlisted for a position at a really cool start-up called Kroll ( https://www.kroll.com/en-us/default.aspx.) Having the video on my profile allowed me to bypass the interview process, which made the whole process super quick and easy, and I got an offer immediately.
When it comes to flexible working, being a jack of all trades myself, I love the idea of being able to explore different sectors. I think flexible working is becoming ever more important because it gives people the freedom to explore what they want to do in life.
The flexible nature of the Tempo platform allowed me to apply to another position at Iwoca, for which I have a final stage interview for a permanent role!

Fun fact: Big fan of all things cyborg and “post-human” – from the Westworld series to Donna Haraway’s ‘Cyborg Manifesto’.
